About Us
Western Metal Working Network
The network is comprised of six metal working businesses located on the scenic west coast of Newfoundland.

Our workforce has always produced quality workmanship and our staff members here in Western Newfoundland can meet fabrication deadlines.

With our ice free harbors, shipping via water, rail and or truck transport will enhance efficient deliveries.
Goals
What We Strive To Achieve
The network has combined the strengths and expertise of six individual companies with the primary goals of:

    Cooperatively securing future business opportunities, especially in exporting fabrication components;

    Collectively obtaining training and counseling in various initiatives that will enhance all aspects of business security;

    Working collaboratively with provincial and federal organizations to avail of opportunities within the region that will offer growth and sustainability in the industry;

    Working cooperatively in marketing as well as related fields to secure future business growth;

    Sharing ideas that will assist all network members to reduce operating costs and in turn increase profitability.
Purpose
The Reason For The Network
The purpose of the network is to partner metal working businesses so they can position themselves to secure larger contracts and more business than they would be able to secure as individual firms.
How It All Started
Why Did It All Start?
The network has realized that given shrinking economies of scale, the stresses of skilled labor and the competitive nature of the industry, sustainability requires innovative thinking and forging partnerships. The network's recent associations with the Stephenville Task Force are a solid example of partnering for sustainability.

Through their association with the Stephenville Task Force, the Western Metal Working Network has participated in a recent reverse trade mission, wherein senior Alberta industry stakeholders, public companies and government officials visited Stephenville to explore the concept of (outsourcing) locally fabricated components and shipping them into the Alberta marketplace. The general consensus arising from the meeting was, the concept is worthy of further exploration.
